James 1:2-3

Scripture:

James 1:2-3  “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” (NASB)

He was overjoyed, said he was the happiest he had been in years! As we come close to finishing the week of Addiction Victory, we come upon the verse in His Word relating to the joy found as we encounter various trials and that the testing of our faith producing endurance. Pete couldn’t help but share the joy he found as he related what happened to him over the weekend.

Pete struggled with alcohol and weekends were his worst time, but this weekend Pete found victory over his addiction by spending the weekend on a short-term mission trip with his men’s group. He related how he never had a thought about drinking as he spent time helping family after family deal with the clean-up from a recent flood. Not only that, but he shared that he found another man who struggled with the same addiction and with his new-found friend had agreed to hold each other accountable. As he shared his joy, I couldn’t help but think of today’s verse!
