Job 23:11

Scripture:

Job 23:11  “My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.”  (NASB)

Observation:

I wanted to turn around and go back, but couldn’t. While climbing higher and higher, the heat intensified, the smoke got thicker and thicker, but this was the path that I had to take to get to the top of the ladder in order to put water on the fire. Sometimes the path we choose in our life will lead to places that aren't the most comfortable - like climbing an aerial ladder. The things we see along that path may want us to turn around or veer left or right, but if we hold fast to His path we will get to the end.

Today's verse speaks of holding fast to God's path and keeping His way, not turning aside to another way. Too often we find ourselves wanting to turn off the path that God has placed us on. Maybe the journey has gotten a little rough? Maybe smoke and fire stand in our way? But if we hold course, we will see the destination He has for us. I'm sure we have all heard the saying, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!” Let's get tough for Christ and keep going! Find strength in Him to stay the course!
