Acts 15:31

Scripture: 

Acts 15:31  "When they had read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement." (NASB)  

Observation:

It always amazes me how the Lord works! I know it shouldn't, but I am still amazed by our God. I was having one of those "nothing is going right" days, when I received a simple text from a friend. Today's verse speaks about encouragement and how a simple message can bring rejoicing. I didn't really want to answer the text, fearing it was going to be another problem to have to fix that day, but as I glanced at my phone I had to open it up and read it. It was a simple message from a friend, saying that God had placed me upon their heart and they were praying for me. What a wonderful surprise and much needed message for my rather difficult day! I took time to thank them and thank God and sent a few text messages of my own to men I felt God was leading me to text.

Following where the Holy Spirit leads us can bring rejoicing at the encouragement of a friend to a friend. Take a moment and listen to who the Holy Spirit is placing upon your heart and shoot out a quick text, email or even phone call. We just may brighten someone's rather difficult day!

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
