Proverbs 11:14

Scripture:

Proverbs 11:14 (NASB) “Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory.”

Observation:

He simply said, "I'm not sure which way to go." While sitting with a group of men discussing life, one of the men asked a simple question. He needed to make a decision that would have some rather large consequences, and he just wasn't sure which way to go. Today's verse speaks of where there is no guidance people fall, but with an abundance of counselors there is victory. He had weighed his options for a few months but just couldn't decide what to do. It was keeping him up at night; it's all he could think about. The men at the table began to give their advice. Some shared times when they too had to make a decision. Others shared the pros and cons. Then one man simply asked, "Have you prayed about it and sought the Lord's guidance through the Holy Spirit's guiding?

It's always good to ask advice of others, but we must never forget to get the God’s thoughts as well. We didn't make the decision for him but gave him some great advice, and the best was to seek the Lord. A few weeks later, when the group met again, the man shared that he had made his decision and found peace in it. Something to think about as we all face decisions.

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
