Ephesians 6:7

 Scripture:

Ephesians 6:7 (NASB) “With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men…”

Observation:

She didn't know our names, and we didn't know hers. While driving to help my daughter and son-in-law, we spotted a young woman by the side of the road. It appeared that she was trying to get at something under her car. Now, going 55 MPH, I could have zipped right past, but something said to stop. Maybe it's the fact that I have three daughters of my own about her age, and I would want someone to help them if they needed assistance. Today's verse speaks of rendering good will as to the Lord and not to men.

If I never shared this, no one would ever have known that we stopped to help. We didn't end up doing anything for she had gotten the object out from under her car (she had run it over and it got stuck there!). We went to help because, simply said, it's what Jesus did and would want us to do. Remember the old "treat others as you want to be treated." There's no good excuse not to render good will to another. The only thing stopping us is ourselves; so, let's be a little less selfish and take a moment to help a stranger. You never know, we might need some help one day. Do it all for the glory of God, not yourself.

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
