2 Timothy 2:26

Scripture:

2 Timothy 2:26 “…and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” (ESV)

Observation:

I felt trapped, like there was no escape. Deep within the building, I found myself lost in the fire and smoke. There was no light to guide my way. Today's verse speaks of being trapped and how to escape. During rookie school, the fire officers shared with us techniques to use if we ever found ourselves trapped with no clear escape. They taught us to calm our breathing and take a moment to focus. In life, we may find ourselves feeling trapped by the lies of Satan to the point of no escape. But if we breath, take a moment to focus on Christ and the victory we have in Him, we can escape the lies and the traps. Focus on the Light of Christ! He will bring you to safety.

Application:

  • Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

  • Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.
