Read Acts 1:9-11 – After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The scriptures declare His substitutionary work on the cross.
The Lord ascended into the heavens in the presence of witnesses. They stood in utter amazement at the ascension of the Lord. Then suddenly the angels asked them why they were standing and gazing into an empty sky? The same way that Jesus left He would also return! These men were motivated to tell the world about Jesus because they saw Him leave and knew He would return soon. The message of an ascended Christ is found in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (KJV).
