Questions from a Wayward Man

Read Ecclesiastes 8:7-8a – Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come? No man has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the day of his death.

Men make plans that are meaningless. Planning is good and should be done. But all plans have to begin with the Lord’s will in mind and have to end with, “if the Lord is willing.” Leaving the Lord out of the planning of one’s life would be like taking an airplane ride without a pilot. You might get seated to find that at best you go nowhere and at worst you crash and burn in an attempt to fly it yourself. It is better to be informed by God for the direction of your tomorrows than to be reforming your own futile efforts.
