Read Ecclesiastes 8:4-5 – Since a king’s word is supreme, who can say to him, “What are you doing?” Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure.
All of us are under the commands and orders of someone. Young men may find this difficult and feel that to be their own man they should obey no one. Sadly, the most undeveloped men are those who never learned to submit to authority. These men find themselves rebelling against forces that destroy their lives. The greatest leaders are those who have learned to say “yes sir,” and “no sir”. We learn leadership by how we serve those under whom God has placed us. Godly leadership is not placed in our lives to enslave us, but to empower us for the future.
