Read Ecclesiastes 10:13-14 – At the beginning his words are folly; at the end they are wicked madness- and the fool multiplies words. No one knows what is coming – who can tell him what will happen after him?
When we are young men, none of us know if we will become old men. None of us know whether our strength will be sustained in later years. None of us know if our minds will be as sharp in years to come. Neither do we know as we are surrounded by friends today if we will be friendless when we need a friend the most. Life is very fragile and we would do well to recognize this in our days of plenty. Yet our God is always the same and when all our resources fail us, we can be assured His resources never fail. The man who trusts in God will be sustained by a strength no thief can steal, no rust can destroy, no cancer can kill. While others trust in this world’s resources, the man of God trusts in the Lord our God!
