Questions from a Wayward Man

Read Ecclesiastes 2:2 – “Laughter,” I said, “is foolish. And what does pleasure accomplish?”

The man who is away from God will try to fill the void in his life with material things only to find the objects he hopes will bring pleasure are really meaningless. Solomon had everything he could imagine and still was empty inside. He allowed the world to choke out God and then tried to replace God with manmade things. He had houses, vineyards, harems, gardens, lakes, fruit trees, slaves, silver and gold and by his own admission it was all meaningless. You cannot find fulfillment by replacing God. The end result of choosing earthly pleasure over God leads to a meaningless life.
