Scripture:
Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (NASB)
Observation:
We are the only ones who really know what we are about. What I mean is, when we are alone, when no one else is around, that’s when we find out if we truly know and live Jesus Christ. I am not a world traveler by any sense of the word. I‘m not even an out-of-state kind of guy. My life can usually be found in about a 100 square mile radius. When I do get the opportunity to travel outside my immediate life circle, it’s out there when I get to find out who I really am.
Am I the same servant of Christ when no one knows me? Do I hold tight to His ways, or am I the kind of guy who just talks the talk and walks the walk when it’s easy? If I’m in an airport in some other city will I sit down to read His Word? Am I ashamed to pull out my Bible in public, or is it just for Sunday morning service? If I see someone needing help, do I jump up and offer it, or can I hide behind the multitude of people because no one knows me? If I have been transformed deep inside, the answer to those types of questions is obvious; if I have not buried His word deep within me and learned what it really means to be a follower of Christ, then the answer is that I don’t really know what it means to live Jesus. Walking with Christ is a day to day thing. Yeah when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we are saved from the powers of hell and death, but if He lives IN us it must not end there.
Application:
1) Think about what you just read.
2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.
3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.
4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
