Scripture:
Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” (NASB)
Observation:
There was no way to avoid it. If we wanted to enjoy the day on the lake, we had to go through it. On a recent boating trip, we arrived at the dock to launch our boat. As we examined the water, we found the algae had bloomed and the water’s surface was covered with green scum. We had to physically go into it. It would go all over the trailer and the boat. There was not clear path to get through.
Today's verse speaks about God's Word as a lamp and a light for us to follow. There are many paths in life, some will lead this way and that. Others will lead us nowhere, and some will lead us where we are covered with stuff we would rather not be covered in. However, there is one path that will lead us to an unbelievable relationship with God. That's if we chose to His Word. Otherwise, we may just have to spend a lot of time scrubbing off the scum of the world. As always, it’s a choice. Sure, we went on the boat ride, but we had to pay the price to clean the trailer and boat. God's path is a lot cleaner!
Application:
1) Think about what you just read.
2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.
3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.
4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
