Scripture:
Matthew 22:37-38 “And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. (NASB)
Observation:
“Put your back into it?” While trying to help move a rather large crate at work, three of us began to slowly push it along. Then the foreman yelled out, “Put your back into it!” He wanted us to give all that we had to move the crate to where it needed to be. Today’s verse speaks of the greatest commandment of God – to love Him with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our mind. When the three of us began to give it all we had, the crate moved easier, and we got to where we needed to be faster. Have we ever “put our backs” into today’s verse – to really give it all to God? Do we keep something back for ourselves? If we put all we have into loving God, we may just find a peace that the world will never know without Him. It’s worth a try, don’t you think?
Application:
1) Think about what you just read.
2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.
3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.
4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
