John 10:25

Scripture:

John 10:25 (NASB) “Jesus answered them, ‘I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify to Me.’”

Observation:

“Aren't you Jim's son?" I had heard that so many times as I started my career as a fire fighter. You see, my dad was a lieutenant in the same fire department. I never really thought about what that meant until a chief told me that I fight fires just like my dad.

Today's scripture shares Jesus saying that He was doing works in His Father's name, and that that work testified to who He was. I got to thinking, how my actions as a fire fighter testified to what and how my dad taught me about life, about looking sharp, dressing sharp, and being sharp, and about being proud of the family name. I wonder for those of us who know Christ, are we bringing Him honor and glory by how we live. Are we sharp for Christ…testifying to the wonders of a magnificent Father in Heaven by how we live out the Gospel; are those who see us wondering just what kind of God we serve? I guess the question is - can others see His hand upon our life by our actions? Something to think about as we go through life.

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
