Ecclesiastes 7:8

Scripture:

Ecclesiastes 7:8  “The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit.” (NASB)

Observation:

He was rushing to get it done; I was taking my time. We were both hired on a trial basis the same day. We were given tasks to perform for the day, and at the end of the shift, the manager was to come by and check our work. Throughout the day, the man hired alongside me kept coming by and telling me how many he had done, while I was slowly getting my work done. At the end of the day, when the manager came by, my coworker took pride in his quantity of work, while I displayed my superior quality.

The end of the matter is better than its beginning, and having patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit. After the manager inspected our work, he called us into the office and talked to us about what we accomplished. He was only keeping one of us for the opening he had. I was blessed to get the job. When I asked, “Why me?” His simple reply was that my work, although not as quantitative, was done correctly. The other man rushed and left things out. Take your time and do it right, finish strong, and let your work speak for itself!
