Scripture:
Isaiah 64:4 (NASB) “For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.”
Observation:
It seemed like forever. Waiting…waiting…and then it came. Standing in a building on fire, holding a hose line that had not been charged with water can make you a little nervous. The driver of the fire engine may be having some difficulty or maybe they ran into a frozen hydrant. Whatever the case, the wait seems to last an eternity. Today’s verse speaks about those who have not heard or seen any God besides a god who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him. It may seem a like an eternity waiting on the things of the Lord. We pray. We seek His face; yet we find ourselves waiting. Like the water in the hose, it will come. God will hear and answer our prayers. He will answer our cries in the night, but we must be faithful and wait. He will come.
Application:
1) Think about what you just read.
2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.
3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.
4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
