Proverbs 20:24

Scripture: 

Proverbs 20:24  “Man’s steps are ordained by the Lord, How then can man understand his way?” (NASB)

Observation:

Some people think that if we do God’s will, we have no choice in life. We do have a choice, but one way leads to death and one way leads to eternal life. Doing God’s will is about control – not Him controlling us, but us giving up our control and letting God do what is needed. It sounds easy, but giving up OUR way of life or OUR will to God can hurt. Some of us like being in charge. We can keep doing that, but we will live life struggling for the next “high.”

Sometimes, we think we are in control. If we were to really look at our lives, we’ll find that our lives are controlled by the mortgage payment (must work more to pay), the drugs/alcohol (addiction), or sitting around doing nothing (laziness). I don’t know about you, but I would rather He be in control because I know His ways are better than mine. He loves me all the time. 

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
