Exodus 14:14

Scripture:

Exodus 14:14  “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” (NASB)

Observation:

"I'll handle this!" For most men, keeping silent is, well, a rather difficult task. Many of us want to jump in and help, but sometimes we need to be silent and let others fight the battle. I happened to see a situation where a parent was disciplining their child in an abusive way. As I began to walk over and share that it wasn't the right way to handle it, a police officer happened to witness it too. Today's verse speaks of being silent and letting the Lord fight for us. The police officer touched me on the shoulder and said, "I'll handle this." In uniform and having the authority that comes with the job, he improved the situation when he spoke to them, more than I could ever have done. In life, we will face battles and deal with struggles.

Today's verse is a great place to lay those battles and struggles. Give them over to the Lord; He is the ultimate authority on all things. Yes, even the battle your facing right now. So, why not let Him handle it and just be silent? I know it's harder to say than do, but we don't have to do anything. He has it under control. Why not give Him control of your life and watch how He handles things?

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
