Praying for Believers

Read Acts 4:29-30 – “… Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” (NKJV)

It is not always easy to speak about Christ outside the church. The leadership of the first century church was threatened and told not to preach about Jesus. In response, they called a prayer meeting. Instead of asking God to stop the threats, they prayed for a boldness to speak the Word even in the midst of such obstacles. We should pray for our fellow believers that they would have boldness to speak about Christ. Our job is not to convince people of the truth of Christ—that is the job of the Holy Spirit. Our job is to boldly proclaim Christ.
