Prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving

Read Exodus 15:1 – Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying: "I will sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!” (NKJV)

The Israelites had just crossed the Red Sea on dry ground and then watched as the army of Pharaoh drowned in the same sea. Their response was to express thanksgiving to God for what He had done. Prayer is more than just asking God for “things” it is praising God for what He has done. As the people prayed they were very specific in expressing thanksgiving to God. They had seen the soldiers of Pharaoh’s army riding horses into the same dry ground they had walked on and then suddenly the sea came crashing in on those riders and they were thrown into the sea. Be specific with God as you thank Him for what He has done in your life.
