Read 1 Corinthians 15:3 – For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The scriptures declare His substitutionary work on the cross.
There was no legal reason that Christ had to die on the cross. He was innocent of the crimes He was accused of committing. He could with one breath call angels from heaven and be delivered. The only thing that held Christ to the cross was His love for the Father and His Father’s love for lost man! Men were doomed to eternal separation from God and a hell that was not intended for men. The only way for man to be saved was through the redemption of a worthy sacrifice. God declared that the "soul that sins would die." It was His law. Jesus became a man so that He could die for man, and at the same time being God, be a worthy sacrifice. I owed a debt I could not pay! He paid a debt He did not owe! To reject God's love is the saddest act a man can commit. There is no other salvation than the way made by Christ. All I can say is, “Thank you, Lord and today again I receive your free gift of salvation into my life!”
