Read Ecclesiastes 7:10 – Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions.
People cannot enjoy their lives because they are constantly revisiting their past. It is hard to move forward when all you can see is what is behind you. Yes, we should celebrate our heritage and the good memories of days gone by. But those markers become a gravestone if the things of old are your vision for today. Our eyes have to be set on new markers, new horizons and new memories. Men who live life as an adventure come to the shores of a new world and burn the boats so that they are forced to explore a future rather than retreat to their yesterdays.
