Read Romans 12:1-2 – Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God.
At the inception of Christ in our lives there is an instantaneous sanctification through Him for us. We are placed in Him and have a new position in Christ! There is nothing we do as Christians to position ourselves in Christ. The Holy Spirit does it when we believe on Him. But after this move of the Holy Spirit it is now our duty to walk in Him. We now should separate ourselves from the things of the world. We are responsible to not be conformed to the world in our ways. This is a process of conforming to the Word of God. As we practice our faith we will become proficient as Christians to do the work of Christ on the earth.
