Fundamental Truth: The Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Part 4)

Read 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 – There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.

Shame on the church that is operating without the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Shame on the church who calls organization, administration or preparation the working of the Holy Spirit. Organization, administration and preparation are wonderful things but nothing is a replacement for a church yielded to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Men of God, do not blame your pastor if you are not being led by the Holy Spirit yourself. Our churches need to be full of men who are full of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit should move freely in our churches. Men who are lost, in bondage and in need will be changed in such places. Those who are afraid that He may offend someone are taking way too much responsibility for God. Quit being embarrassed by His actions so He will not be embarrassed by your restrictions! May we declare our lives and churches places of operation of the expressions of the Holy Spirit!
