Read Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.
Have you ever wondered why you are so prone to sin? What is it that makes your temper flare? What causes the inclinations to follow the world and not the Word of God? It is the lack of power you have. No, not will power, Holy Spirit power. His power in you can break the bondages of sin and addictions. This is not something man or institutions can give you. This is not accomplished with education and learning. This is the power of the Holy Spirit in you working through you. Do you want to be free? Sure you do! Receive the Holy Spirit and yield your life to Him. He will give you the power to break free!
