Colossians 2:2

Scripture:

Colossians 2:2  “That their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is.” Christ Himself (NASB)

Observation:

I often look at the faces of people as I am out and about. Sadness seems to be in full supply. Their eyes look dull, and they seem almost like robots. When you share an encouraging word with them, it’s as if a giant light has gone on inside them and they become alive again…from just one simple act of kindness, one simple, “Hey it will be okay,” In order to do that we must step out of our world and look at those around us. We need to be less concerned with ourselves and more concerned with those around us. One kind word can speak volumes to a person.

For those of us who know Christ, it seems that it is almost a natural thing to be an encourager. As we walk in the world, Jesus gave each of us an encourager, the Holy Spirit, the helper. If we could get out of our comfort zone, walk by the Spirit, and be an encouragement to just one person – just one. If everyone reading this encouraged one person today, there would be 100 people who felt a little better today. The 50 people who were encouraged and the 50 who encouraged them. Try it. You never know we could change the world.

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
