Titus 2:7-8

Scripture:

Titus 2:7-8  "…in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us." (NASB)

Observation:

If only I could be half the man dad is. While celebrating my dad's 80th birthday, our family gathered for a meal. Before we prayed and ate, my dad wanted to share a few words. “Order whatever you like, but be sure to finish your meal. If not, please take it home, or I will and give it to someone who could use it! Why” Because my friend Jesus did it when He fed those with a few loaves and fish. He told His disciples to gather up the left overs!"

Another teachable moment. That's how my dad lives his life - sharing Christ when you least expect it. We were there to celebrate his birthday, but dad was, as always, thinking of others. Today's scripture is one that describes him well. I can only hope to read it and live it like he does. When I run into someone who knew him from the fire department years ago, they never have a bad thing to say about him. May we all take to heart the words of Titus because that's how Jesus and my dad live.

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
