Scripture:
Jeremiah 23:24 “’Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?’ declares the Lord.” (NASB)
Observation:
A good finish carpenter can hide a screw so no one knows it’s there. For years I hid my anger from most people. Only those close enough (those I was supposed to love) could see the anger. No matter how well I hid it from the outside world, God knew, my family knew, and I knew. In today's scripture the Lord asks a simple question, "Where can a man hide himself from God?" The answer is nowhere! Many times, we do things we think no one will ever notice.
To be honest, some of those things are sin. Falling short of what we know is right, what we know will honor God. We think that we can hide it. The reality is that God sees all and knows all. If we think we are fooling Him, we are sadly mistaken. We have to stop hiding our sin and confess it before Him. Think about it, where can we run where He doesn't see us and know? Brother, it's time to come clean.
Application:
1) Think about what you just read.
2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.
3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.
4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
