Ezekiel 11:19

Scripture:

Ezekiel 11:19  “And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.” (NASB)

Observation:

You should have seen it when it started. Standing by the side of the 1928 Ford 2-door coupe, people were amazed at how beautiful it looked. The paint job was new, the engine redone; every inch had been pulled apart and cleaned up. Some parts were so bad that they had to be replaced by new ones, but the end project was a thing of beauty. It took many man hours and everyone working together with one goal in mind.

Today's verse speaks of having one heart and a new spirit within. The heart of stone taken out and a new heart of flesh put in. Like the old car, rusted and broken down, we too sometimes need to have things taken out and replaced with new things. Anger, hatred, and abuse can be replaced by love, caring, honesty, and many more if we are honest with where we start. Sure, it's a scary thing to begin to pull things apart. We may not like what we find, but God knows how wonderful it will be when we're done. Why not trust Him and take a good look at where we are? Maybe order a few new parts…people will stand back and comment how beautiful it is.

Application:

1) Think about what you just read.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity and insight.

3) Share this with someone who would benefit from reading it.

4) Make sure others see Jesus in YOU today.
