Praying for the City

Acts 17:6, 7
“But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, "These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. 7 Jason has harbored them, and these are all acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king — Jesus." NKJV

Paul was paid a very high compliment by these people who were opposed to the gospel, they “have turned the world upside down”—only they did not mean it as a compliment.  The gospel was changing the way they did things and they did not like it.  We should not be surprised when people oppose the message of the gospel.  People do not want to let go of their sinful ways and turn to God.  We preach the gospel anyway.  Keep this in focus as we pray for the city; prayer can soften hard hearts and open closed doors.  Keep praying and keep “preaching” the gospel.  The gospel is still the power of God unto salvation.
