Praying for the City

“Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.  21 Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'He said, "I am the King of the Jews."'"  22 Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written." NKJV

When Jesus was born, God chose a small rural town.  There was no crowd and no fanfare.  But interestingly, when Jesus was crucified, it was near the city.  Jerusalem was a large metropolitan area in this time.  God wanted as many people as possible to know about the death of Jesus.  His title, “King of the Jews” was written in three different languages.  The salvation that God provided was not done in some small corner.  It was done so that many could see and hear.  Your city deserves to know that God’s salvation is available to them.  Don’t keep the message quiet.  Proclaim the news to your city that salvation is possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
