“Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it.” NKJV
As Jesus looked over the city of Jerusalem, His heart broke for that city. The people as a whole had rejected God and as a result the city was going to experience some very difficult days. The compassion that Jesus demonstrated for Jerusalem is the compassion we need for our city. What do you see when you look over your city? Whatever you see, keep in focus that the greatest need of your city is God. While we want our cities to be places of peace and prosperity, we should also want our cities to be places where God is honored and His presence is revered. May your heart be broken for your city.
