Read Acts 18:9-11 – Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city." And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.” (NKJV)
When you pray for your city, it is important to see the city the way God does. Corinth was a wicked, pleasure filled city. Immorality was rampant. Yet, God saw people there who were hungry for a relationship with Him. Ask God to show you what He wants to do in your city. Ask God to open your eyes to the people who are open to the Good News. It might be a neighbor, it might be a co-worker, it might be a friend. While sin may be widespread, God is still at work. His Spirit is striving with men. Pray for your city for God has people in every city.
