Read Acts 10:1-2 – There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. (NKJV)
We don’t really know how Cornelius knew to pray to God as he was employed by a government that worshipped many gods. Here is a man that was a respected military leader and used to giving orders and having those orders carried out without question. Yet he somehow understood that even though he was a man with authority, he needed God in his life. Men, regardless of how high you may climb on the ladder of success, never forget your need of God and your need to pray to Him. Make prayer a constant part of your daily life.
