Prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving

Read Exodus 15:21 – And Miriam answered them: “Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!” (NKJV)

As Miriam reflected on the victory that God gave over Pharaoh and his army, she broke into a song of praise and thanksgiving. Many songs are actually prayers. It was not the people of Israel but God who triumphed over Pharaoh. All our victories over the enemy come from God. His grace and strength working in our lives allows us to be victorious over the enemy. As we pray, we should also sing thanksgiving to the Lord for all He has done for us.
