Read Exodus 15:3 – The Lord is a man of war; The Lord is His name. (NKJV)
In our desire for peace we sometimes try to hide or forget that God is also known as a “man of war.” Throughout the scripture God helps His people defeat their enemies. When David faced Goliath, he informed Goliath that he would be defeated because the “battle is the Lord’s”. When we pray we should ask the Lord about the battles we desire Him to fight for us. We should also praise Him for He is the God of the battle. Later, in one of the Psalms, David tells us that God is mighty in battle. Let this truth build your faith as you pray about difficult situations you or members of your family might be experiencing.
