Read Exodus 15:2 – The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will exalt Him. (NKJV)
After experiencing the miracle at the Red Sea, God’s people were filled with thanksgiving and praise to Him. Prayer is more than asking God for things; prayer is expressing worship for who He is. The Lord is my strength. The Lord is my song. The Lord is my salvation. The Lord is my God. Our prayer time should always start with expressing thanks to God and exalting Him. This is not done to “butter up” God so He will give us what we want, but simply to acknowledge His greatness and our smallness in His presence. He is God!
