Read Joshua 6:1-2 – Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor… ” (NKJV)
Moses’ generation never imagined such a day. The very people they had feared—the giants of the land of Canaan with their walled cities and superior weaponry—now are fearful of the Israelites. In fact, the city has locked its doors in anticipation of attack. Could it be that we are stronger than we think too? No, our own capacity may not look like much, but how strong are we when God is with us? Do we realize that God’s ability to overcome the impossible extends to those who trust in Him? Sadly, many of us live beneath that potential. We settle for lives we can manage and challenges within our abilities. We live boring lives where paying mortgages are our biggest goal, while God waits to do something extraordinary in us and through us. Never forget that God can’t step into your life without making things amazing! That’s who He is and what He does so why not try seeing things from His vantage point?
