Read Luke 22:31-32 – And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren." (NKJV)
The scripture makes it clear that we have an enemy whose goal is our destruction and separation from God. The good news is that we can be victorious over Satan. Jesus informed Peter that Satan wanted to destroy him but Jesus also made it clear that through prayer Peter would overcome. Jesus was praying that Peter would be victorious. We also should pray for our fellow believers. Prayer can break the power of the enemy over our lives and the lives of our friends. Pray regularly for your family and friends that their faith would not fail during times of temptation.
