Praying for fellow believers

Read Colossians 4:12 – Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. (NKJV)

Epaphras had a strong commitment to “wrestle” in prayer for the believers in Colosse. To describe the intensity of Epaphras’ praying Paul used a word that means to struggle. In other words, Paul was saying prayer can be hard work. Epaphras wanted these believers to be firm in the will of God and to be mature believers. Pray for your fellow believers—pray with intensity that they will stand firm in the will of God. Pray that they will grow in Christ-like maturity. Wrestle in prayer for them because the enemy wants to see them grow cold in their relationship with Christ.
