Read Exodus 5:22-23 – So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.” (NKJV)
God’s plan isn’t always easy. Moses had assumed he would make a demand of Pharaoh and the deliverance would begin. But things worsened before they got better. Why? God has a deeper plan. What Moses doesn’t yet understand is that God is not only going to deliver Israel from Egypt, but He is going to judge the Egyptians for their harsh treatment of Israel and bring the powerful nation to the place of begging the Israelites to leave. God’s plan is bigger and deeper than Moses imagines. God’s plan always works at deeper levels. His purposes are greater than we can understand; so, we would be wise to trust Him fully and be patient for the full unveiling of His purpose. He knows what He is doing, even when we don’t.
