Read 1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (NKJV)
The apostle John makes it clear that our basis for fellowship and community with other men is that we walk in the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a common example—Jesus. We have a common goal—Christ likeness. That is what joins men together as disciples of Jesus. There should be a camaraderie among brothers in the Lord that goes beyond and deeper than even family ties. While none of us live perfectly, we have the promise that the blood of Jesus still cleanses us from all sin. Build strong relationships with your brothers in the Lord.
