Read 1 Peter 1:22-23 – Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever. (NKJV)
In today’s culture, it is often difficult for men to talk about loving another man because of the risk of being misunderstood. Peter makes it clear that because of our new birth we can love people with a pure heart. A man can have a godly love and concern for another man. In fact, Peter tells us to love “fervently” which means intently. It is the kind of love that will fight on behalf of a brother in the Lord. Who are you fighting for in prayer? Demonstrate your love for the men in your church, young or old, by praying intently for them on a regular basis.
