Wednesdays with Moses

Read Exodus 2:21-23 – Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses. And she bore him a son. He called his name Gershom, for he said, “I have been a stranger in a foreign land.” Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. (NKJV)

Things change. For Moses, life had become impossible in Egypt and he had fled to the desert, but God “followed” him there. Now his life had taken a few interesting turns and he has a home, a wife, even a son. When we face difficult circumstances, the temptation to lose hope can grow. We can’t see solutions that can help us and we can drift toward depression and despair. But things change—God can change them. He can find us in any desert and lead us to new life. Our job is to trust Him and to believe in His love for us. Moses’ life was ready to take on a new trajectory. At his lowest point, God proved His love. He’ll do that in your life too.
