Read Romans 8:23 – Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the church.
At the rapture of the Church incredible things will happen. In the moment the rapture takes place, the dead in Christ will be resurrected. Those who are alive will receive a new body. I do not have the capacity to understand what that body will be like. I know it will be new, it will be indestructible, it will be disease-free, it will have no pain and it will be perfect. These old bodies of ours, with all we can do to nurse them, are still falling apart. But one day we will sport a new body that will be incorruptible!
