Read 1 Thessalonians 5:23 – May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God.
None of us are perfect. Some of us will be perfect at times but none of us can be perfect at all times. The realization of not being able to reach perfection as Christians should not be a reason to throw down our efforts of aspiring to live a better life. We are practicing our faith as we live it out. Through this process, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will become better citizens and neighbors. The world is riddled with people who have neither aspirations, nor laws greater than themselves nor any disciplines for higher living. The Holy Spirit is in us and that alone demands that we prepare for Him the best residence we can provide.
