Fundamental Truth: The Salvation of Man (Part 9)

Read Titus 3:5-7 – He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life.

The Holy Spirit baptizes us into the Body of Christ at our new birth. The moment we accept Him by faith and repent of our sins we are baptized into Christ. He does for us supernaturally what we express outwardly at water baptism. We become a new creation at that moment. Old things are passed away and all things have become new. It is better than a new start! It is a new life, fresh and wonderful and full of unspeakable joy!
