The Prayer Life of a Working Man

Read Nehemiah 9:11-12 – And You divided the sea before them, So that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; And their persecutors You threw into the deep, As a stone into the mighty waters. Moreover You led them by day with a cloudy pillar, And by night with a pillar of fire, To give them light on the road which they should travel.  (NKJV)

As Nehemiah prayed he reflected back on the history of God’s people. He “reminds” God how He had lead His people. As we pray we should be aware that God is leading us. Just because we have difficulties (God’s people went through the sea with an army chasing them) does not mean God is not leading us. Asking God to lead and guide us should be a daily prayer. David prayed, “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation”(Ps 25:5). Make that prayer your daily prayer as you work on the job.
