Men of Character

Read 2 Corinthians 6:4-6 – Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love.

It is difficult to act like a servant of God when others treat you badly. Life is full of people who enjoy beating others down physically and verbally. The challenge does not come from those who are cruel, but from ourselves. How will we respond to those who treat us in an unloving manner? As men of God we have to determine that our faith will guide our actions and attitude. If we allow the world to be our barometer for Christian living we will never live as one. Our standard is Christ and His Word. While that may never be easy, it is always right.
